FlateEncoder Class

Definition

The FlateDecode encoder: zlib/deflate compression through the BCL's , at the context's compression level.

public sealed class FlateEncoder : IStreamEncoder

Remarks

ISO 32000-2 §7.4.4.1: the data is an RFC 1950 zlib stream (two-byte header, RFC 1951 deflate data, Adler-32 checksum), which FlateDecodeFilter and every other reader decode. CompressionLevel selects the effort: writes stored blocks, the smallest output. The same input, level and runtime always give the same bytes.

The predictor functions of §7.4.4.4 named by the parameters are applied before this encoder by the pipeline, not here. Allocates the BCL deflater once per call, never per byte or row.
