PdfColorConverter Class

Definition

Converts colours of any colour space to a device colour model: the special spaces expanded, default colour spaces applied, and the rest through the engine's colour management. Get one from GetColorConverter(PdfColorSpace, PdfDefaultColorSpaces?).

public sealed class PdfColorConverter

Remarks

ISO 32000-2 §8.6 and §10.3 to §10.4. An Indexed colour is looked up in its table, converted once; a Separation or DeviceN tint goes through its tint transform to the alternate space (a display always uses the alternate), except the colourant All (1 − tint on every additive component) and None (PaintsNothing); a Pattern colour converts through the underlying space of an uncoloured pattern. Device spaces, including a nested Indexed base, Pattern underlying space and Separation or DeviceN alternate, are replaced by the given defaults (§8.6.5.6). What remains, a device, CIE-based or ICCBased space, goes to the IColorManagement the engine was configured with, every component clipped into its range first. The conversion's transfer function, when it has one, then applies to the device colour (§10.5).

A converter is built once per document, source, conversion and defaults, and again when a COS object it was built from changes or an object is added or removed (§7.3.10). It is immutable, safe to use from several threads at once, and allocates nothing per call.
