GetShading(CosObject) Method

Returns the resolved model of a shading of this document.

public PdfShading? GetShading(CosObject shading)

Parameters

shading
CosObject

A shading dictionary or stream, or an indirect reference to one, such as a value of a resource dictionary's Shading subdictionary.

Returns

PdfShading
The model, shared by every caller asking for the same object until it changes or an object is added or removed (which can change what a reference in it resolves to, §7.3.10); null, with a diagnostic, when the object is not a shading of Type 1 to 7. A shading that cannot be painted is returned with IsValid false.

Remarks

ISO 32000-2 §8.7.4. Deviations are recorded on Diagnostics when the shading is read, and again when it is read again.
