SetDeviceParameters(in DisplayDeviceParameters) Method

Definition

Assembly Broadside.dll

Sets the overprint parameters and the halftone the paints that follow are rendered with, until the state is restored.

void SetDeviceParameters(in DisplayDeviceParameters parameters)

Parameters

parameters
DisplayDeviceParameters

Whether strokes (StrokePath(PathView, in StrokeStyle, in DisplayColor), StrokePathWithShading(PathView, in StrokeStyle, in DisplayShading) and the stroke of DrawGlyphs(in GlyphRun)) and every other paint overprint, the overprint mode, and the halftone and its origin.

Remarks

ISO 32000-2 §8.6.7 (overprint control) and §10.6 (halftones), Table 52. A replay starts with no overprint, mode 0 and the device's halftone; the call arrives before the first paint it applies to (before SetCompositing(Double, Double, BlendMode) and SetTransform(in Matrix)), only when one of the values changes, and SaveState() and RestoreState() save and restore it.

These are device-dependent: a backend for a composite display that does not overprint ignores the overprint parameters (§8.6.7: "If overprinting is not supported, the value of the overprint parameter shall be ignored") and a continuous-tone device needs no halftone (§10.6.1); a separation, CMYK or overprint-preview backend can honour them. Transfer functions do not come through here: they travel with each colour in its ColorConversion and the converters apply them (§10.5).
